Library Service Updates

With the second provincial emergency announced by the Province of Ontario on January 12, our services will remain limited to Curbside Library Take-Out only, available at the McLaughlin, Jess Hann, and Northview branches. The Delpark Homes Centre branch will remain closed until further notice. External book return chutes remain open at all branches.

Jess Hann, McLaughlin and Northview Branches – Take-Out Service Only
Monday – Thursday: 10 am – 6 pm
Friday, Saturday: 10 am – 5 pm
Delpark Homes Centre Branch – CLOSED (External book return chute will remain open)
Returning Your Library Items
Library items may be returned through the Library’s external book chutes at any of one of our four library branches.
All returns will be quarantined for 72 hours. When you return items, changes to your Library account may take a bit longer to update while our staff safely handle and process your returns If you have any questions about your account, please call us at 905-579-6111.
Library Take-Out Service
Effective January 14th, certain restrictions will be enforced for libraries in Ontario in response to the second provincial emergency issued by the Province of Ontario. Rest assured, we are pleased to continue offering Library Take-Out services, so you can still enjoy books, DVDs, music, magazines, and more! These services are available at the Jess Hann, McLaughlin, and Northview branches during the hours set out above. Before visiting one of our branches to pick up your items, please make sure you review the health and safety protocols set out below. Your visit will be limited to the designated pick-up area only.

Health and Safety
The health and safety of our community and staff is our top priority. When you visit us for Library Take-Out services, we ask that you follow recommendations from Durham Region Health Department on how to protect yourself and others, and reduce the spread of COVID-19:
- Physical distancing, proper hand hygiene, and wearing a non-medical face mask or face covering is required while accessing Library Take-Out services.
- Remember: Wash or sanitize your hands frequently, cough or sneeze into your elbow, avoid touching your face, and practice physical distancing.
- Anyone experiencing COVID-19 symptoms must postpone their library visit and call Telehealth or their health care provider to be assessed.

In-Person Library Services
There will be no In-Person Library Services available until further notice.
