Virtual reality technology and experiences have arrived at the Oshawa Public Libraries, and you’re invited to join us to try out these exciting technologies at your nearest branch. Our virtual reality technology is available for use by library visitors on the following dates:

Jess Hann Children’s Area: Tuesday, May 8th, 1pm-3pm
Northview Nonquon Room: Tuesday, May 15, 1pm-3pm
Legends Program Room: Tuesday May 22, 1pm-3pm
McLaughlin Local History Room: Tuesday May 29, 1pm-3pm
McLaughlin Local History Room: Tuesday June 5, 1pm-3pm
McLaughlin Local History Room: Tuesday June 12, 1pm-3pm

The Oshawa Public Libraries’ virtual reality solution consists of the HTC Vive headset, controllers and sensors, and TPCast wireless connectivity solution, giving you a wire-free, free-roaming connection to the virtual world in which you’re placed.

Available experiences range from relaxing immersion in natural environments, to challenging action games which will test your reflexes, to creative tools which will let you paint and sculpt in 3D. A list of popular experiences available now can be found here.

Any titles having an age-restricted ESRB rating will be limited to use by individuals of appropriate age.
