TD Summer Reading Club

This year Canada turns 150 and the TD Summer Reading Club invites you to celebrate what makes books, libraries and Canada great. Together let’s explore new ideas, new characters, new landscapes, and one another.
  • Register at any Library branch starting June 17.
  • Track your reading minutes using your TD Summer Reading Club journal.
  • Report your reading minutes as often as you like up until August 23. Play games, earn reward stickers, and enter draws.
Last summer we read a combined total of 362,882 minutes. Let’s beat that number and reach 400,000 minutes! Children ages 12 and under are encouraged to register for the TD Summer Reading Club; registration opens on June 17.

Travel free all summer with Ride to Read! Children who register for the TD Summer Reading Club can turn their library card into a Durham Region Transit bus pass for July and August.

Is Canada Even Real? Teen Summer Reading Club

In honour of Canada’s 150th Anniversary, let’s have fun and celebrate being quirky Canadians. This summer be challenged by weird Canadian trivia and scavenger hunts. Why not review a book for the Library? Every other week there will be a new card with a new trivia question and challenge, plus space to record your hours spent reading.

Keep track of your time spent reading for entry to our weekly draws and the end-of-summer grand prize draw, a $150 Chapters gift card. Visit any Library branch to register and you’ll be on your way to winning prizes.

Please Note: All entries will be included in the grand prize draw. There is no limit to the number of times you can enter. Runs June 17 – August 23. All submissions must be in by August 23 in order to qualify for the grand prize draw. Ages 12-17.
