Starting March 1, Oshawa Public Libraries will begin re-opening its branches to include in-person visits for browsing library collections, computer access and printing services, staff assistance, and Library Take-Out (curbside pick-up).  External book return chutes are open at all branches.

Our Northview and Delpark Branches will re-open on Monday, March 1. 
The Jess Hann Branch will re-open on Tuesday, March 2.
The McLaughlin Branch will re-open on Monday, March 8.

Hours for In-Person Library Visits 

McLaughlin, Northview and Delpark Branches 
Monday – Thursday: 10 am – 6 pm
Friday, Saturday: 10 am – 5 pm
Sunday:  Closed

Jess Hann Branch
Tuesday – Thursday: 10 am – 6 pm
Friday, Saturday: 10 am – 5 pm 
Sunday, Monday: Closed


Returning Your Library Items

Library items may be returned through the Library’s external book chutes at any of one of our four library branches.

All returns are quarantined for 72 hours.  When you return items, changes to your Library account may take a bit longer to update while our staff safely handle and process your returns If you have any questions about your account, please call us at 905-579-6111.


Library Take-Out Service

Rest assured, we are pleased to continue offering Library Take-Out services, so you can still enjoy books, DVDs, music, magazines, and more!  These services are available at the listed branches and hours as set out above.  Before visiting one of our branches to pick up your items, please make sure you review the health and safety protocols set out below.

Health and Safety

The health and safety of our community and staff is our top priority.  When you visit us for Library Take-Out services, we ask that you follow recommendations from Durham Region Health Department on how to protect yourself and others, and reduce the spread of COVID-19:

  • Physical distancing, proper hand hygiene, and wearing a non-medical face mask or face covering is required while accessing Library Take-Out services.
  • Remember:  Wash or sanitize your hands frequently, cough or sneeze into your elbow, avoid touching your face, and practice physical distancing.
  • Anyone experiencing COVID-19 symptoms must postpone their library visit and call Telehealth or their health care provider to be assessed.
